In the second meeting of back to back games, host SJSU took on LMU Saturday night in San Jose, California. The Spartans started the game off with a bang as forward Erik West scored his first goal of the year just four minutes and twenty seconds into the first period. Unfortunately, Loyola would go on to score four goals in a row. Three of which would round out the remainder of the first period, sending the teams to the dressing rooms with the score being 3-1 in favor of the visitors.
The second period would prove to be more positive for San Jose. After allowing an early goal they would bounce back and respond with a goal of their own less then twenty-five seconds later. The period would not feature anymore scoring and would end with the score being 4-2 in favor of Loyola.
To start the final period SJSU flexed their muscles as they came out scoring five straight goals. They would surrender a goal to Loyola but it was of no concern as not only would San Jose respond with another goal of their own but they would also skate away with a comfortable 8-5 win in the rematch. With the win SJSU capped an undefeated weekend home-stand going 3-0 against their opponents.
