Friday night was a wild one as San Jose State skated away with a 4-1 win over Santa Clara. The game was tilted much in favor of the Spartans as they heavily out-shot their local rivals and dominated most of the night. The game featured some heavy hits, highlight reel goals, and lots of intensity.
The game started off slow as the first period came and went without a goal scored. It wasn’t until almost 8 minutes into the second period when Santa Clara opened up the scoring. Not much later the Spartans tied the game on an unassisted goal by defensman Brandon Hirschel.
The third period opened up a but as the Spartans tallied off 3 unanswered goals to close out the game. Goals by Keanu Deguchi, Ryan Lothman, and Jared Anstett were all the Spartans needed to skate away with a 4-1 win over their local rival SCU. Next up for the Spartans are back-to-back games against CSU Northridge. To view the boxscore or the gamesheet please click the links below.
